High Country Haven Wellbeing Retreats were founded by Rachel Meadows, a Psychologist who has a holistic approach to Mental Health. She says "it makes sense to aim for healthier lifestyles as we know prevention is easier than a cure!"

Her vision is to create relaxing retreats where you can pick and choose which workshops you wish to attend. The workshops are facilitated by experienced practitioners and health professionals who can bring the best out of you and give you long-lasting, practical tools to improve your daily life.

The workshops focus on improving the ​mind​ and the body in very realistic and achievable ways for today's hectic pace. These retreats last for 3 days. They give you tools that you can use for a lifetime.

RELAXATION MASSAGE

Completely relax and enjoy a full body massage.

ART THERAPY

Facilitator- Gabe Clark

An experiential adventure using your own body wisdom and some simple art materials. What people will get from this workshop is (re)-connecting to what they deeply know. Together we will embark on an in-bodied journey using felt sensing, collage and haiku. No artistic experience required just a curiosity and desire for more joy in your life!

Yoga for the Soul

Facilitator- Linda Davies

Morning yoga, BREATHE, MOVE, BREATHE: From the wisdom of an endeared yogi. “If you can breathe, you can do Yoga.” The style is Vinyasa Flow.

Evening yoga, REPLENISH..RESTORE: Yoga Nidra. Unwind and chill out with all floor restorative, gentle yoga to encourage a restful night’s sleep.

THE FIVE DOMAINS

Facilitator- Rachel Meadows

Exploring the five domains that will help maintain resilience to the ups and downs of life. How do we encourage our brain to produce feel good chemicals naturally?

In this workshop we reflect on lifestyles and habits that improve mental health and reduce stress.

ENERGISE: No previous experience or level of fitness required. Our bodies are built to move. We will practice functional exercises that will enhance and embrace the vitality in you!

REVISIT GOALS

Facilitator – Rachel Meadows

Revisiting the goals made at the beginning of the weekend and the five domains. Sharing the creative ideas participants have to make positive lifestyle changes in their busy lives to improve wellbeing.

MINDFUL WALK

Facilitator- Rachel Meadows

Mindfulness in motion, walking in silence, filling your senses and appeciating the beauty of the forest. 2 kms walk through a picturesque reserve on the banks of the Delatite River.

Connecting to others

Facilitator- Rachel Meadows

Explore the question-am I connecting socially in a positive and meaningful way? How does this impact on my emotional and psychological wellbeing?

Strategies for good sleep

Facilitator- Rachel Meadows

Do you have difficulties with sleep sometimes? In this workshop we discuss common causes for difficulty sleeping and strategies for assisting a better sleep.

Don’t just think about living a healthy lifestyle, live it!

Facilitator- Rachel Meadows

We know what we should be doing to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle, so what is getting in the way? The role of emotions and self belief in making goals and keeping them. Explore how our thoughts can affect motivation, self esteem and the way we shape our lives.

Nurturing your body and mind with good food

Facilitator- Chris Wasley

Practical and realistic ways that you can improve your diet and your health and well-being, without having to obsess about everything you put in your mouth. You will be empowered to interpret the plethora of nutrition information that today’s media bombards us with, while you will also learn some basic tweaks for your everyday meals and snacks.
